Todd took this picture during a "burp break". Garrett is starting to stay awake more during the day and he's sleeping most of the night. Thankfully when he's awake, he's usually like this....happy!

Garrett's One Month Visit

We took Garrett for his one month visit yesterday. He did have to get one shot, but he did pretty good with it. It probably didn't help that he was hungry, but he didn't cry TOO long.

The doctor said that Garrett is doing everything he's supposed to....he's growing and gaining weight, so he's eating like he should. He weighed in at 12 lbs. 12 oz. (97th percentile) and is now 22 inches long (75th percentile). I was really surprised when they gave us his numbers. I knew he had gotten bigger and a bit heavier, but I never would have guessed he would have gained more than 3 pounds in a month!

The doctor said that he's a healthy baby. He also said that we shouldn't be seeing more than a couple hours sleep in a row until 2 or 3 months of age. Well, Grant slept through the night at 3 weeks and Gavin was 6 weeks old. I'm just praying for something along the lines of Gavin! I don't know how much more of these late nights with frequent interruptions I can take! And poor Todd is the one feeding him and changing him at night! He's crazy!

I've tried to get Todd to bring the baby upstairs to sleep in his own room so Todd can stay in our room, but he is being so considerate of my recovery. This third C-section has taken quite a bit more of recovery time, and its been a more difficult recovery all together. Todd is so concerned that I need the sleep to heal, but I do still wake up when Garrett does. But hopefully soon, my wonderful husband will get to sleep in a comfortable bed instead of the couch!

Other than that, everyone is doing great! I go for my 6 weeks visit on Monday and will hopefully get the A OK to go back to my normal routine and start exercising! I can't wait!
