Well, it has been a VERY long time since I last posted on this blog, and I must apologize. Things have been so crazy insane here. I have a few pictures that I want to share from Thanksgiving on through Christmas and beyond that. So, I will add them to this posting and then hopefully .... HOPEFULLY .... I can update Flickr. That just takes so long (especially since I have so many stinking pictures to put up there)!
Todd and I hosted Thanksgiving this year. We had both sets of parents, my grandmother and my brother, Danny. It was a nice turn out ... and I was able to get a 27.42 pound turkey! It was the biggest turkey that I had ever seen and it took three loaves of bread and two pounds of sausage to make the stuffing. I ended up having to buy a special roaster to fit this monster in it ... and it was surprisingly juicy. I was so terrified that it was goin to be dry! It was a successful Thanksgiving dinner and everyone had plenty to make a meal out of the left overs that we had!
Gavin found that both he and Uncle Danny have a LOVE for Cool Whip ... Gavin wouldn't let poor Danny take a bite out of his pumpkin pie without Gavin running up and asking for "whip"! He doesn't care for anything else other than that when it comes to the dessert. But, Uncle Danny sure did enjoy sharing his dessert with Gavin ....
The boys had a wonderful Christmas! Santa went a little crazy and we ended up with a ton of presents under our tree! We had a total of five Christmas celebrations to attend and the boys had a blast! They were both so excited and couldn't wait for Santa to come! They tried really hard to be soooo good...and really, overall, they were just typical kids trying way too hard to be good! In the end, Santa came anyway ... so, I'm sure that means that they fit his standard of a "good child"! That made our boys very happy! They had a GREAT time opening their presents! Grant, of course, zipped through all of this before Gavin got half way through! And, of course, Mommy and Daddy had a great time watching their two little men running down the stairs, seeing the excitement when they saw all that Santa had brought, and watching them ripping all their presents open! It was so much fun! Here are a couple of pictures of Grant and Gavin opening up the presents....

So .... the boys also went bowling ... the first time that we went bowling with the boys. We went with Papa and Nana. I'm not sure if the boys have ever been bowling with them prior to this, but they had a blast, and Grant is quite the little bowler! I had such a blast watching both boys get so excited when they hit some pins! Gavin would even start cheering right after he let go of the ball! It was so much fun! I can't wait to do that again! I know that I won't be able to take them somewhere like that all by myself for quite some time (Gavin throws a little bit of a temper tantrum some times ... ), but when we can all go, I hope it's just as much fun!
Gavin has started getting in and out of his crib. He has started to show his personality. He is so funny ... he is quite the little jokester and he can be quite a little stinker! He flirts to get himself out of trouble .... he loves to make people laugh .... He is so fun! Grant and Gavin, both, have given us so much joy! Sure ... they give us a lot of grief too ... but they CAN be some of the greatest kids to be around! Todd and I are really enjoying Our Little Men! We hope that even though they tend to be a little crazy and mean toward one another that they grow up to be great friends. They can be so mean to one another, but then, they can be so caring toward one another and they are always looking out for one another when the other might be in trouble.Hopefully I will get Gavin's two year birthday party up here soon. My camera, unfortunately, ran out of battery right when it was time to do the cake. So, needless to say, I'm hoping that my parents got some shots of the birthday boy blowing out his candle.
Well .... here's to not waiting two months for another update! Pictures and posts should definitely come more frequently than this!
