Earlier I wrote how Gavin seems to want Grant's attention more than he wants anyone else's. Well .... Gavin was playing oh so contently in his Exer-saucer when Grant decided that he wanted to sit next to Gavin and watch him. Well, Gavin immediately turned to watch Grant! I don't understand what Gavin's fascination is with Grant sometimes! I'm just kidding! Grant is so good with Gavin ... he just loves to make him laugh and I think that he loves his brother just as much as his brother loves him! He helps get Gavin up EVERY morning. He gets his stool up next to the crib and he just starts in with the high pitched "hey" and tickling! They are just so darn cute together. These two are going to grow up and be such good friends ... at least I hope they do!

Our Lazy Afternoon

Today was the "Toxic Bash" at my aunt and uncle's house. Todd and I really wanted to go, but decided that with Gavin being so young and it being so hot this afternoon, it was probably best for us to say home. Next year we will definitely be there! We had so much fun last year that it was a really hard decision to make, but we thought it was better for the boys.

So .... instead we had a lazy day here at home. Well ... not exactly LAZY, but toward the end of the afternoon it turned that way. I made breakfast, we headed to Sam's Club, and when we got back ... TONS OF LAUNDRY ... cleaning of bathrooms ... changing of the beds ... washing both cars ... and laundry is STILL going! But, the boys enjoyed their day in and out of the house. Grant helped us wash the cars. Sure, I think we ended up drying our cars three times a piece because Grant was having so much fun spraying everyone and everything with the hose!

But ... here are a couple of photos of the boys when our busy day started to wind down.

Here are our two little men ... resting. Grant resting on the couch waiting for his nap to kick in, and Gavin resting on Daddy's chest! Our Little Men are just so darn cute!

Gavin's First Taste of "Real" Food

I know .. I know ... all the Pediatricians say that you aren't supposed to give baby food or cereal to an infant until they are six months old. Well, we started Grant on cereal when he was something crazy like two weeks old to get him to sleep through the night, and ... it worked. We tried the same thing with Gavin and three weeks, and it just seemed to make things worse. So, we discontinued the cereal.

The gals at day care have told us that when another little child in Gavin's room is being fed their baby food, Gavin just stares and starts "chewing". Odd ... so, we decided that since he is going to be six months old in two weeks (unbelievable isn't it??), we would try giving him some baby food -- pears was our first attempt. I wanted to share some photos of it to show how much he enjoyed them!

Here is Gavin patiently awaiting his new meal in our quick and convenient high chair. He knew that something different was going on. He's never been in a high chair before!

Here is Gavin opening up for his new food. He just knew that this was something that he wanted to try!

Mmmm....pears! I think that I really like these things! At first it took him a minute to realize that he was supposed to swallow these things, but once he did ....

Todd couldn't get the spoon to his mouth fast enough! Gavin had to try and get it from him. Maybe he thought that would get it into his mouth faster! But, needless to say, Gavin thoroughly enjoyed his first taste of "real" food and we can't wait to try it again!

It's Been .... So Long!

I know that it's taken some time to update this blog, and I do apologize ... It has just been quite hectic here at home, and finding the time to upload new pictures and sit down and update is nearly impossible. AND, there are some readers that get upset when the update doesn't include any pictures (uhh .... DAD!). :) Just kidding ....

So .... I got out the blanket to let Gavin roll around and play with his toys, and as always .... Grant decides that he HAS to lay with his brother. And, of course, demands a picture be taken. It's so cute to watch these two! Grant will pretend like he wants absolutely NOTHING to do with Gavin, but the second Gavin sees Grant, he smiles and starts "talking" to him. He tries so hard to gain Grant's attention, and when he gets it, Grant just makes him laaaaaaaugh!

Gavin just loves his big brother so much ... sometimes I think he would rather have his attention over anyone else's! When Gavin waves his hands around and touches Grant, he'll pretend that Gavin knocked him over, and Gavin gets all excited and giggles. Grant will get back up and wait for the next touch from Gavin .... they'll go back and forth like that for a few minutes and just laugh! The really are so much fun to watch.

I wish that I knew how to get some video on here ... I have some cute clips of them playing together and with Daddy! They bring so much laughter to these two tired parents! We are so blessed to have two great little boys (even though Grant can be quite a stinker ....)!
