And They're Here .... Finally

Well, I have finally taken the time to update the photos of Grant and Gavin's big day. On May 7, 2006, we celebrated Grant's third birthday and Gavin's Baptism! It was a wonderful day! My parents were gracious enough to let us have the party at their house this year! We were so tired of cramming everyone into our house, and not being able to utilize our awesome "party barge" of a deck because it was too cold. We asked my parents if we could impose on them and have the party there. They were wonderful and said that we could...And wouldn't you know ... It was BEAUTIFUL out that day! There were people sitting on the deck, in the garage with the door open (at our house the door was closed and my dad had to bring his heater!), and the kids played outside! I guess that's just the way it goes ...

Anyway ... I have finally uploaded the pictures to our Flickr account ("More Pictures" link on this blog) minus the pictures from Todd's dad. For some reason, I couldn't get them to open ... but, I'll fix it! He got some really great shots! I haven't added any titles to them yet, but I wanted everyone to see what a great day we had! I hope that you enjoy them! And thank you to my mom and dad for allowing us to celebrate at their home, to everyone that helped with food, to everyone that provided us with their pictures, and everyone that came to celebrate with us! We love you all!

"It Looks Like Nana B's Hair" - Grant Matthew

My mom brought this hat home from one of the ladies that she works with for Gavin. I, personally, think it looks cute ... but, Grant thinks that this resembles something else.

When I brought the hat home, Grant wanted to know what was in the box. For fear that he would ruin it, I urged him not to open the box. But, Grant being Grant decided that he was going to open it anyway. He opened the box and put it on his head. He looked at his daddy and said, "It looks like Nana B's hair".

Now, anyone that knows Nana B, might see the resemblance (unfortunately, I don't have a picture so that you can compare the two yourself), but Todd and I just thought it was so funny that Grant put this curly blue hat and Nana B's hair together! So ... Todd thought that he would put the theory to the test too!

I don't know ... I think that Gavin looks a bit cuter than Todd in it ... but Todd sure does make you want to laugh -- really hard! Don't you think?? He actually seems to enjoy wearing it!

Grant Update

Grant went in today for his three year check up. He was a good boy while we were there, and he weighed in at 37 lbs and he was 38 3/4 inches tall! He is in the 80th percentile for both height and weight! He is growing to be a healthy big boy!

The doctor also got to experience Grant's independence and his knack for ignoring you when he's doing something. He says that he is a normal three year old. Thank God!

PS .... I promise to update the birthday and baptism pictures this week! I just have to find the time to do this. AND I am also writing out the Thank You cards for the boys ... so it's taking up some time.

It's 9:00 pm ... Both boys have been put to bed. Todd and I are watching our TiVo-ed "Prison Break". We hear a noise ... "da dong .... da dong". "What was that?"

"Sounds like it's coming from upstairs."
"Do you think Grant fell out of bed ... or is hitting the wall?"

Todd goes up to check on Grant and I hear a giggle at the top of the stairs. I didn't sound like Grant was going to go back to bed very easily. I heard his bedroom door shut .... open .... shut. And then Todd came downstairs.

I asked him if everything was alright, and Todd said "Yeah ... Grant was just playing basketball!"

Grant got a basketball hoop to put on his bedroom door this weekend for his birthday. The noise that we heard was his throwing the basketball at the hoop -- missing, not missing, who knows?? But, Todd said that he had the light on, and was "shooting hoop" -- to put it in Grant's exact words!

At least he wasn't crying to get out of his room! I'm sure he would have fallen asleep eventually!

Grant's Birthday!

Sunday we had a party for Grant's birthday (pictures will be forthcoming)! He turned three years old on the 2nd, and Gavin was baptized on Sunday so we had a combined celebration for the two of them. We had a great time with everyone that joined in the celebration, and I will share photos as soon as I get them downloaded! Be on the look out!

Grant .... The Lady's Man!

Yesterday was Grant's birthday .... he is THREE YEARS OLD! Man ... time sure flies by! He got to take cupcakes to school to celebrate with his class. He was sooo excited to take them. When we got to school, he walked in the door and said, "I've got cupcakes!!" He came a MESS! But, that is fine ... he didn't have ONE accident yesterday! We were so proud of him! I even caught him just in time for him to "poopy on the potty!" He was really proud of that! I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that he'll do it today!

So .... this morning we walk into day care, and all these girls come out of Miss Maria's room. I hear, "Hi, Grant ...", "Grant..", "Hello Grant...", Grant, Grant, Grant. I turn around and there are FIVE little girls (all appearing to be a little older than Grant) standing in the doorway to the kitchen area where I am putting away Gavin's bottles and Grant is playing with Gavin. Grant, of course, just looks up at them and says, "This is my brother." Like he couldn't be bothered. I gave Grant his hug and kiss before I left, he turns to go into Miss Maria's room, and the girls just follow him .... Grant!, Hey Grant! ... HUH?!?!?!? He is THREE and he has girls following him?!?!?!? You think it was the cupcakes?
